726 Italcementi Group will be one of the suppliers for the Jamal Abdul Nasser Street Project, part of a mega infrastructure project in Kuwait City.

The scheme will be developed by the 5140 Rizzani OHL Boodai Trevi joint venture comprising Italian construction groups Rizzani de Eccher and Trevi; Spanish construction group 5141 OHL and Kuwait conglomerate 5142 Boodai Corporation.

The project includes the substantial upgrade of this main traffic artery in the middle of Kuwait City, to upgrade the status of Jamal Abdul Nasser Street to that of an expressway through the construction of over 395,000m² of viaducts, including six cloverleaf intersections and other structures.

The agreement has an economic value of around 6 million KWD (approximately €16.3 million).

"The contract for this major project in the area confirms our commitment to the emergingcountries, where the annual construction growth rate in the past four years was equal to 5.8%," said Carlo Pesenti, CEO of Italcementi Group during a visit in Kuwait and Middle East area.

"The planned investments in infrastructure projects in the Gulf area enable us to strengthen our presence in the region in order to meet the growing demand."
