4341 Sure Equipment Spares (SES) is gearing up for changes to the delivery of parts from overseas, to continue its"prompt service for clients."

The company, part of the 4342 Finlay Group, has introduced a six-figure investment programme to increase its own stock in light of changes to international transportation.

Security checks around the world mean that larger items, such as engines, now need to be screened (usually by x-ray) before being transported by plane.

Difficulties in completing this for waste recycling and quarrying machinery equipment, due to the sheer sizes involved, means that the spares often need to be moved by road as opposed to by air, moving delivery times from overnight to a two-day service.

Julian Sharpe, managing director of SES, said: “With this in mind we’ve invested £100,000 [€120,000] in increasing stocks, to ensure we can continue to deliver to our customers quickly and overcome these logistics issues.”

Established for 40 years, SES is agent for 668 Terex Finlay, 4343 Allu, 905 Tesab, 642 Pilot Crushtec and 669 Trio, and the company provides spares from a computerised central warehouse in the Midlands region of the UK, a facility backed by strategically located satellite warehouses.
