The Austrian construction materials company 4633 Wienerberger announced that the EBITDA for its brick segment in Europe was €20 million lower than the company's target in the first half of 2013. This was due to the difficult economic conditions and the postponement of construction projects in Europe due to the long winter and heavy rain in May and June 2013.

Despite this, Wienerberger remains optimistic for its other segments in 2013. The restructuring measures announced by the company in 2012 were put into effect as planned and should result in savings of €18 million for the full year 2013.
