Kirchdorfer and Asamer form new used tyre firm KIAS

Austrian cement manufacturing company Kirchdorfer is forming a new used tyre company named KIAS with Austrian construction materials maker Asamer. A subsidiary of Asamer has been operating a used tyre processing plant in Ohlsdorf, Austria, since 2002. This is to be merged equally with Kirchdorfer to form the new joint venture company KIAS, which will be managed by Kirchdorfer on an operational level.

Austrian cement manufacturing company 7517 Kirchdorfer is forming a new used tyre company named KIAS with Austrian construction materials maker 4700 Asamer.

A subsidiary of Asamer has been operating a used tyre processing plant in Ohlsdorf, Austria, since 2002. This is to be merged equally with Kirchdorfer to form the new joint venture company KIAS, which will be managed by Kirchdorfer on an operational level.

A share of 70-80% of the processed rubber, some 20,000 tonnes per year, will be recycled thermally (burned at the cement site).

Negotiations about the new company are not completed.
