Lafarge acquires eight RMC factories from James Dick

The Canadian branch of French construction materials group Lafarge has acquired eight ready-mix concrete factories from James Dick Construction, it is reported. The acquisition involves 30 staff and will reinforce Lafarge Canada's ready-mix concrete activities in Ontario. The eight factories are located in Alliston, Caledon, Oshawa, Bolton, Scarborough, Brampton and Hamilton and will be operated under the name James Dick Concrete. The Canadian branch of French construction materials group 725 Lafarge has acquired eight ready-mix concrete factories from James Dick Construction, it is reported.

The acquisition involves 30 staff and will reinforce Lafarge Canada's ready-mix concrete activities in Ontario. The eight factories are located in Alliston, Caledon, Oshawa, Bolton, Scarborough, Brampton and Hamilton and will be operated under the name James Dick Concrete.

Lafarge Canada has signed an agreement with Canada Cartage Systems over services relating to the transport of the concrete for these recently acquired sites. James Dick Concrete has strong links with the local community and will continue to pursue its activities according to its tradition and heritage. The company's customers and suppliers will not be affected by the transition.
