India's Ambuja Cements was the first runner-up at the Assocham CSR Excellence Awards for 2013-14, held at the 6th Global Corporate Social Responsibility Summit in New Delhi. The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) recognised efforts by the Ambuja Cement Foundation towards water conservation, health and sanitation, sustainable agriculture, economic enhancement, HIV and AIDS awareness, education of local youth, and encouraging women's self-help groups.

India’s Ambuja Cements secures 10th position in Carbon Disclosure Index

India-based Ambuja Cements has been ranked 10th in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index.

According to the latest India 200 Climate Change Report 2014, published by the Carbon Disclosure Project, the cement company has managed to score 92 out of 100 in the index.

Compared to the industry average of 67%, some 91% of Ambuja Cements' products are fly ash blended. The higher use of fly ash in its cement production lowers the use of limestone and the carbon dioxide emissions.

Cement producers convene in Bali

Indonesia will host the 7th Asia CemenTrade Summit, on 20-21 October, 2015, in Bali.
