The Terex Ecotec product line has grown significantly in Northern Ireland since it was established in 2014 to meet the specialised needs of customers in the growing waste management and recycling sector. Similarly, ProStack was launched in 2019 due to increasing demand for mobile conveying systems which, as well as being complementary to existing core Terex Materials Processing segment crushing, screening, and shredding equipment, has enabled Terex MP to enter the port and terminal industry. In 2019, Terex invested £12m in the facility at Campsie in Londonderry to focus on the development and manufacture of Terex Ecotec and ProStack product lines. Five years on, the facility has now manufactured its 1000th machine.

"This milestone represents a significant achievement and highlights our commitment to engineering and manufacturing excellence," said Jonathan Hanna, General Manager of Terex Campsie and Business Line Director of Terex Ecotec. "Our proactive product development strategy has led to a 50% expansion of our manufacturing operations at Terex Campsie since 2019. Currently, we are producing over three times the volume compared to 2019-2020 and double the output of 2021.”

The 1,000th milestone machine to be produced is the Terex Ecotec TDS 815 Slow Speed Shredder, a model introduced earlier this year that Terex says has been exceptionally well-received in the marketplace. One customer has described it as a 'Swiss Army Knife' for waste management applications. The compact yet powerful machine tackles diverse challenges that waste materials present thanks to its 1.5m twin shaft shredding unit that allows for highly efficient material reduction and quick-change shafts for adaptability and maintenance efficiency.

"We are delighted to mark this important milestone, which clearly reflects the hard work and commitment of our team," said Hanna. "Since the opening of Terex Campsie, Terex Ecotec and ProStack have become known for creating highly efficient, versatile machines that meet the ever-changing needs of the various industries we serve. These five years have seen an amazing growth journey, and we owe our success to the unwavering support of our customers, distributors, and team members."
