Bauma Equipment Update

The final preparations for Bauma are now underway and ABE takes a look at some of the new equipment that will be launched at the show. With more floor space than ever before, the 2010 edition of Bauma looks set to be the biggest yet in terms of the number of new products on display. Work on placing the new equipment from the 3002 exhibitors on the 555,000m2 showground is now reaching the final stages.

The final preparations for Bauma are now underway and ABE takes a look at some of the new equipment that will be launched at the show

With more floor space than ever before, the 2010 edition of 386 Bauma looks set to be the biggest yet in terms of the number of new products on display. Work on placing the new equipment from the 3002 exhibitors on the 555,000m2 showground is now reaching the final stages.

But the trend for these new launches isn't always bigger is better - there is a growing move towards improving efficiency and productivity. This focus is not only aimed at lowering ownership costs but is also helping the environmental credentials of the newest equipment.

Many manufacturers will also be displaying their solutions to meet the Stage IIIB engine emissions regulations which are due to come into force on 1 January 2011.

Drilling, blasting and breaking 385 Atlas Copco will be diplaying a number of new developments for the drilling market including the Secoroc TC35 drill stem, Secoroc TRB drill bit range and Coprod drillstring range. 460 Sandvik will also launch some new products in this sector with the full DPi drill rig range and the new RT300 Uniface threaded button bits.

Spain-based 1734 TABE will display its new AGB-40 hydraulic breaker, while Atlas Copco is to unveil the HB 3100 breaker and Sandvik.

Loading and hauling 395 Caterpillar is completing its tracked loader range with the debut of the 973D but has kept news about its biggest launches for the quarrying market quiet in the run up to the show. Nonetheless, Cat has exclusively revealed details of the 988H wheeled loader upgrade and new quarry truck body to ABE and details of these can be found in this issue's equipment update.

6512 Hitachi will also show the benefits of its agreement with 1735 Kawasaki with the display of the new ZW330, ZW370 and ZW550 large wheeled loaders. 394 Case will also improve its wheeled loader offering with the launch of joy stick controls for the range, while 436 Komatsu will show the upgraded WA470-6 LC and WA480-6 LC wheeled loaders.

411 Doosan is extending its quarry offering with the new 71tonne DX700LC excavator and DL420 large wheeled loader, while 439 Liebherr is to add the 62tonne R 954 C SHD crawler excavator to its range.

2983 Bell and 3652 Terex will demonstrate their advances in articulated dump trucks. Terex will show its new TA400 truck, while Bell will roll out a new version of its Fleetm@tic system and a hooklift variation of its ADT.

Crushing and screening There are a number of new launches planned for both mobile and static crushing and screening operations.

New mobile impact crushers on display will include 435 Kleemann's completely redesigned MR110Z impact crusher, Sandvik's QI240 and 668 Terex Finlay's I130RS. 447 Powerscreen is also adding to its mobile offering with the XH320 SR horizontal impact crusher and Pegson XR400 S jaw crusher.

Recycling opportunities will be boosted with 642 Pilot Crushtec's RubbleBuster crusher and a new model in the GO! Range from Rubblemaster. Mobile screening solutions on show will include Powerscreen's Warrior 800 and 2400 and Terex Finlay's 694.

Static crushing and screening innovations will include 426 Hazemag & EPR's VarioWobble pre-screen and AP-KV sand impactor, as well as 1736 SBM's Series 13 impact crusher. Sandvik's new developments for the market include the SC screen and the Flexifeed mantle for cone crushers. CDE will show its new modular approach to washing with the new M2500, while Haver & Boecker will display the upgraded Hydro-Clean system.

Site services Options for controlling water drainage on site have been improved with the launch of 627 Godwin's HL260 high head pump and high flow CD500M, 1738 Mody Pumps' M-606T submersible pump, 424 Grindex's SH Master submersible electric pump, 1740 ITT's 2660 ST submersible pump and 3782 Tsurumi Pump's NK2-22 pump. New mobile weighing options will be on display from 379 Actronic Technologies, 1745 RDS Technology and 1746 Pfreundt.
