BREAKERS
Italian manufacturer
Indeco’s Michele Vitulano says the company is keen to sell more of its bigger breakers to quarrying customers in the UK and Ireland, after receiving a high number of requests from quarry operators. He says the company is established in the construction market in the UK but there is good scope for growth in the quarrying sector.

Atlas Copco’s portfolio of hydraulic attachments includes the SB102 breaker, suited to 1.3tonne carriers up to the 10tonne HB10000 hydraulic breaker, suitable for carriers up to 140tonnes. The full range of silent demolition attachments including grapples, pulverisers and combi-cutters will be on show.
LOADING
Featuring Volvo’s latest Tier 4 Final/Stage IV D13J engine, the loaders meet strict emissions legislation while delivering high performance and low fuel consumption.
The company’s heavy-duty EC380E crawler excavator with an operating weight of 36-43tonnes, is powered by a Stage IV/Tier 4 Final-compliant Volvo D13 engine, and is said to deliver high digging and breakout forces alongside reduced emissions and a 9% improvement in fuel efficiency.

The heavy range, taking centre stage, includes the 621FXT, 721FXR, 1021F, 1121F F series wheeled loaders; CX130C, CX145, CX210C, CX370C and CX800B crawler excavators plus a 1650M dozer.
Case will also have four machines working in the quarry demonstration area: an F series 1021F wheeled loader, plus CX350C, CX370C, and CX210C crawler excavators.

With a bucket capacity of 4m³, the DL420-3 wheeled loader is part of the family of Stage IIIB-compliant large wheeled loaders from Doosan.
Making its world debut, the R125LC-9A midi excavator is a 12tonne midi short tail swing crawler excavator.
The new JCB 457 wheeled loading shovel is JCB’s first large wheeled loader to meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards using a MTU diesel engine that is said to contribute to a fuel saving of around 16% compared to the previous model.
With several loaders on the stand, Bell is showcasing a number of features designed to minimise downtime and improve performance.

HAULING/CONVEYORS
Its new turbo-charged six-cylinder Volvo engines have been redesigned to adhere to stringent Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emissions regulations, and the drivetrain’s design delivers high rim-pull, lowers fuel consumption and provides reliability in heavy-duty applications.
The proven concept of oil-cooled wet multiple-disc brakes on the A35 and A40 models is now being introduced on the A25G and A30G, reducing maintenance costs and increasing uptime, says the company.
Evolution will be the theme on the Bell Equipment stand at Hillhead 2014 as the manufacturer showcases its next generation E-series articulated dump truck (ADT) as well as providing details of its forthcoming Tier 4 engines for wheeled loaders.
The E-series, officially launched in the UK in late 2013, presents an evolution that builds on the proven legacy of the successful D-series.
“The E-series is even more remarkable in real-life than we promised two years ago, and I can’t wait for visitors to Hillhead to see it,” says Nick Learoyd, managing director of Bell Equipment.
For larger jobs, Bell Equipment will also showcase the proven quality of its D-Series machines such as the B50D.
CRUSHING AND SCREENING
Sandvik Construction will highlight the total solutions product ranges, with a number of UK and world product launches planned as well as live demonstrations of mobile crushing and screening equipment.
Being shown in the demonstration area are a QJ341 mobile jaw crusher feeding a QH441 cone crusher with a new hanging screen (world product launch) and the QJ341 feeding a QS331 cone crusher also with a new hanging screen, also a world product launch.
In stationary crushing equipment, the new patented CH540 compact cone crusher from Sandvik is based on the proven Hydrocone design, while the mobile crushers and screens includes the new QA451, the latest incarnation of the original S7.
Through the launch of Optiagg Sandvik Construction says it now offers a new dimension in operational support for its CH430, CH440 and CH660 cone crusher models. Effectively Optiagg takes the guesswork out of optimising crusher performance as there is a step-by-step process that includes analysis of the current conditions, modelling to identify the optimal configuration and setup, as well as the validation of the outcome.
Featuring a Deutz D914 engine as standard (it can also be supplied with a Stage IV Final compliant Caterpillar C3.4 engine), it has a vibrating grid feed-in width of 4.4m, and can easily be fed with an excavator, loading shovel or grab.

From its 8-Series screener range is the 893 heavy duty screen, the company’s largest forward facing screen, which was launched early in 2014, along with the newly-revamped 883+ heavy-duty screener.
Also demonstrated in the recycling area will be the new 883+ screener with a Spaleck screenbox, and from the 6-Series range of inclined screens will be a new 693+ model, offering a more compact transport envelope.
The show will mark the public debut of a new variant of the successful and proven C-1550 cone crusher, and also making its first show appearance is the recently launched I-100RS impact crusher. The line-up is completed with the new J-1170AS jaw crusher.
A 883+ Spaleck recycling screener will work in the recycling area while in the main working display will be diesel/electric versions of the J-1175 jaw crusher, C-1540 cone crusher and 694+ working together.
The company is also set to launch the new improved DF512 scalping screen.
McLanahan will represent its full line of wet and dry processing equipment with 3-D models of crushing, feeding, washing, classifying, dewatering, screening and scrubbing equipment,with sales and engineering personnel on hand to answer questions about the products.
Control specialist Cantech is exhibiting its family of state-of-the-art PC-based control systems for quarry processes.
The central feature illustrates Cantech’s CS-2000 control system for crushing/screening and sand/gravel processing applications, including a wireless display/control station for installation in dump trucks/loading shovels to allow drivers to monitor the crushing operation remotely whilst conducting other tasks.
The combination of high-performance cone crusher and screen on the same chassis is said to offer lower fuel consumption, easier transportation, reduced maintenance and quick setup times.
This crusher closes one of the final gaps in the Kleemann product range, and is perfectly suited to the mobile jaw crusher Mobicat MC 110 EVO, which made its world première at Bauma 2013 and which can also be seen at Hillhead. The MC 100 R EVO mobile jaw crusher is also new and is based on the MC 110 R EVO and complements the company’s product range in this crusher segment. The MCO 9 weighs about 30tonnes and if the plant is operated in conjunction with a Mobicat MC 110 Z EVO this results in the best possibilities for electrical locking.
The MC 100 R EVO was recently presented in Lithuania, and its design is heavily based on the MC 110 R and it has a similar appearance. It feeds capacities of up to 200tonnes/hour.
Visitors will get a first look at
In the rock processing demo area the new J45 will feed the R155 screener, designed to cope with the heaviest of applications, and the TS4065 stacking conveyor for stockpiling.
On its stand the company will showcase the J45R, which offers crushing, screening and recirculation providing seamless production, and the mobile B230 Bivitec screen solution for high-volume processing of difficult-to-screen, wet sticky materials.
WASHING
Officially launched are two new solutions from
The Aggresand 206 is the larger model of the recently-launched Aggresand, and comprises a 20x6 screen with two- and three-deck options. It shares all the features of the Aggresand 165 wash plant, and includes full containerisation of the machine for ease of transportation; rapid setup time; pre-wired and pre-plumbed plug and play componentry; isolated spray bars and an HMI control system.
TWS has included sensors throughout the machine providing the operator with information on water pressure, cyclone feed pressure, and electrical power consumption.
“The market has really embraced the Aggresand wash plant concept with exceptional demand at the moment around the world.
To date, TWS has installed multiple Aggresand 165 wash plants in Ireland, UK, parts of Eastern Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Austria,” says Sean Loughran, director of TWS.
The new Aggrescrub 150 plant, particularly suited to the C&D recycling market, offers improved wear characteristics, reduced costs, and the ability to effectively scrub aggregates and float out clays/silts/lights (wood/plastics) on one chassis.
CDE will launch a new contract washing offer to the market in partnership with the company’s contract washing partners in the UK, Aggregate Processing Solutions (APS).
The partnership offers access to the suite of modular washing equipment manufactured by CDE without the requirement for an initial CapEx investment.
“Our partnership with APS has developed significantly over the last few years in the UK market and we have noticed a growing demand for off balance sheet investments such as this,” says Matt Bunting, CDE general manager in the UK.
There are a variety of options available to operators through APS including rental, hire to buy and price per tonne contracts.
The range of equipment on offer includes the EvoWash sand washing plant; M2500 mobile washing plant; AggMax and RotoMax logwashers; AquaCycle thickener and both a centrifuge and filter press product.
WEIGHING
Making its UK market debut from
Also making its Hillhead debut is the new Loadmaster onboard weighing scale for wheeled loaders, a CAN-based system combining cutting- edge sensor technology and signal processing techniques to provide precise bucket weight information.
For smaller loaders and skid-steers, RDS Technology offers the Weighlog onboard weighing system which provides precise bucket and total load results.
SERVICES
Case Construction Equipment announced is to launch its new all-in-one heavy machine support programme, ProCare, which comes as standard at the purchase of all Case excavator and wheeled loader models.
It consists of three components: an extended coverage for a period of three years and 4,000 hours; 4,000-hour planned maintenance programme, and advanced SiteWatch telematics three-year subscription. The SiteWatch telematics helps keep the machine in top condition, sending reminders of scheduled service intervals and malfunction alerts to prevent damaging technical issues.

WEAR AND SPARE PARTS
Adapting automotive memory polymers, Sideflex’s lightweight, flexible, deflecting shields offer truck owners a viable solution to the danger of sidewall penetration from stray flints and sharp, shale-type rocks.
Fresh from celebrating 70 years since the company says it invented the TPC the international, family-owned, German company will be displaying examples of its comprehensive range of tyre protection and traction chains alongside components such as the Eralau Easy R-Lock and Easy C-Link which have been developed to make TPC installation and maintenance quicker, safer and more economical.
Also on show from the company will be a range of complete conveyor systems for bucket elevators, scraper conveyors, drag chain conveyors, screw conveyors and apron feeders.
“We will present our full range of wear parts including tooth systems, cutting edges, wear buttons and wear bars. We will display the Ultralok Tooth System (8– 60ton/7.25-54.4tonne machines); the SV2 quarry and mining tooth system (60–300ton/54.4-272tonne machines) and the Nemisys mining tooth system (300ton/272tonne machines and up),” says Rodrigo Sanchez, marketing manager EAMER.
The company’s SV2 tooth system is among its latest innovations to service customers globally, and is said to offer improved safety with its hammerless locking system. It is available to suit mining-class hydraulic face shovels, excavators, wheeled loaders and electric cable shovels. Both weld-on and mechanical adapters are offered.
The Ultralok tooth system, with a “revolutionary integrated locking device is truly a hammerless system” while the new Nemisys lip system is engineered to deliver productivity and safety, and replaces the Esco EverSharp lip system and Posilok Plus tooth system.
ENGINES
JDPS says its Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines are built to deliver responsive performance, reliable uptime and low cost of operation in the most demanding off-highway applications, and its display includes 6.8litre and 9litre FT4 engines and JDPS FT4 Integrated Emissions Control System elements along with a 4.5litre GSPU (generator set power unit) Stage III A engine.
JDPS reached two new milestones in the transition to Final Tier 4 when its PowerTech EWX 4.5litre engine was certified as compliant with US Environmental Protection Agency Final Tier 4 and California Air Resources Board emissions regulations. The 55kW model is the first John Deere FT4 engine below 56kW to achieve FT4 certification.
The company also started production of its larger displacement Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines, models meeting emissions regulations that took effect on 1 January, 2014, for engines of 130kW and above.
