Sandvik Mining & Rock Technology Mobile Crushers & Screens staged the global launch of My Fleet, its new automation and control telematics system, at the Hillhead 2018 quarrying exhibition at Tarmac’s Hillhead Quarry near Buxton, England (26-28 June).

Developed initially for the Swedish global quarrying and mining equipment giant’s premium Q range of mobile crushers, the new digital solution is said to have been designed to help operators get the very best out of their investment.

460 Sandvik has long been regarded as among the leaders in process automation and through the introduction of My Fleet, the OEM has added a powerful monitoring, control and data collection tool. With access provided via a cloud solution, this new functionality is designed to eliminate guesswork and provide the hard data needed for informed business decisions.

A company spokesperson said: “My Fleet has been purpose developed to help our customers know exactly how equipment is being utilised. Through the collection and accurate monitoring of a wide array of parameters, this facilitates accurate production forecasting, ensuring that the most efficient use is obtained from equipment, thereby maximising return on investment. This is achieved through the advanced digital technology used in My Fleet which provides remote access to critical data on location and machine utilisation, enabling operational machine optimisation. It further helps customers plan their service and maintenance schedules, and ultimately, work more efficiently and cost effectively.”

Speaking at Sandvik’s 427 Hillhead 2018 press conference, Patrick Forrest, R&D director, Sandvik Mobile Crushers & Screens, said: “My Fleet offers basic information such as GPS location tracking, [crusher] engine hours, and crushing hours, through to more detailed information. It’s really going to connect Sandvik customers and distributors much more intimately and allow us to lift the service levels we can provide to our end users.

“What the customer sees, the distributor sees and Sandvik will see. The real-time connectivity between customer, distributor and Sandvik is key. The servicing alerts that we can create means that you as a customer can maximise the uptime of your machine and, ultimately, reduce your total cost of ownership.”

Two My Fleet packages are being made available and customers will be given the option to take one of the packages or, alternatively, opt out of the system.

The two packages consist of Freemium - a basic package aimed at providing machine location and utilisation; and Premium - providing a wide array of parameters for a more in-depth analysis and monitoring of the equipment.

Both packages are accessible online 24/7, 365 days a year, via a customisable user interface within the Sandvik portal, with data being automatically transmitted every ten minutes.

Sandvik My Fleet will be available for premium Q Range mobile crushers from Q3 2018. Subsequently, My Fleet will become an option for Sandvik’s range of mobile screens and scalpers, along with the manufacturer’s heavy-duty range.
