SENNEBOGEN 850 E unloads sand for Kuypers

For over 90 years, Kuypers, the family-owned company from Kessel in the Netherlands, has specialised in the transport and handling of materials. Since the end of 2016 sand has been delivered by ship via the Maas river and unloaded with the new SENNEBOGEN 850 crawler excavator directly from the quay. The machine, with a working weight of almost 80tonne, removes up to 2.75m³ of sand/cycle from the incoming ships, and this is later distributed by truck to construction sites in the area.

For over 90 years, Kuypers, the family-owned company from Kessel in the Netherlands, has specialised in the transport and handling of materials.

Since the end of 2016 sand has been delivered by ship via the Maas river and unloaded with the new 6244 SENNEBOGEN 850 crawler excavator directly from the quay.

The machine, with a working weight of almost 80tonnes, removes up to 2.75m³ of sand/cycle from the incoming ships, and this is later distributed by truck to construction sites in the area.

The new SENNEBOGEN 850 offers Green Hybrid energy recovery and Green Efficiency engine technology. The Green Hybrid energy recovery system, which is used as standard in the large SENNEBOGEN Green Line material handlers, is said to offer up to 30% savings on operating costs.

The quay is in an exposed location, but with a reach depth of up to 7m the SENNEBOGEN 850 can unload incoming ships across the entire ship’s width, while its reach height of approximately 20m caters for the hopper feed.

“Thanks to the broad gauge undercarriage the machine is not only stable but can also be operated at a variable rate along the quay. An additional outrigger is not required. The 850 E comes with a 2.7m elevating Maxcab comfort cab as standard,” says SENNEBOGEN.
