The product is already being sold in France, UK, Ireland, Israel, Spain, and Croatia and will be made available in Austria, Poland, Latvia, UAE, and Hungary starting in the second half of 2011.
The material is said to reach the same compressive strength in four hours that conventional concrete can achieve in 18 hours, making it ideal for use with formwork. Cemex has said that the product also retains workability for 90 minutes to allow for easy handling on site.
According to Cemex, the innovation has been achieved using cutting-edge admixtures and is the result of two years of research activities carried out by scientists at the company’s research facility in Switzerland.
