Veronafiere, organisers of the 2017 edition of Marmomac, says that once again the event will feature The Italian Stone Theatre.

Marmomac, a leading global event for the natural stone industry, represents the entire supply chain, from raw material to semi-finished and finished products, from processing machinery and technologies to applications of stone in architecture and design.

Being held in Verona, Italy, from 27-30 September, 2017, The Italian Stone Theatre hall is dedicated to culture, training and experimentation with stone and technology, and has been partially developed thanks to the Special Made in Italy Promotion Plan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, ICE-Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Marmomacchine.

“Curated by architect Vincenzo Pavan and designer Raffaello Galiotto, The Italian Stone Theatre has established itself as a focal point for culture and experimentation where Italian companies involved in materials, technologies and machinery can dialogue to give life to ambitious projects with internationally renowned architects and designers,” says the organisers.

Territorio & Design, curated by Raffaello Galiotto and Vincenzo Pavan, analyses topics associated with design using natural stone by highlighting the special features of materials from various production and processing centres in Italy to promote technical content based on tradition and the cultural heritage.

This exhibition focuses on indoor and outdoor products and furnishings produced using highly innovative technologies to exploit the full potential of materials.

Macchine Virtuose, curated by Raffaello Galiotto, targets companies involved with materials, processing and technology to offer them an event that highlights the potential for processing having production and commercial purposes.

Soul of City, curated by architecture historian and critic Luca Molinari, is a research project into the use of stone, which borrows the theme of the UIA [International Union of Architects] 2017 Congress scheduled in September in Seoul, South Korea.
The exhibition will involve important architecture studios from several countries working with Italian companies on projects that enhance the use of stone at the same time as promoting an articulated landscape of different architectures.

The shows will be backed up by the Forum Area hosting conferences, lectio magistralis and workshops with an intense programme of meetings also ensuring professional training credits.

“There will also be a wine bar as a place to meet, relax and where enjoy aperitifs, drinks and Marmito, the cocktail created in 2016 in honour of Marmomac by the Bartenders Academy of Verona, and the Ristorante d’Autore promoting fine Italian food by four-star chefs against scenic setting as ever inspired by marble and stone developed by ADI Veneto Trentino Alto Adige Delegation,” says Veronafiere.
