Safety award for Lafarge plant

The Lafarge cement plant at Port-la-Nouvelle, France, has won the 2011 safety award from the French cement industry.

The 725 Lafarge cement plant at Port-la-Nouvelle, France, has won the 2011 safety award from the French cement industry.

On 24 September, 2011 a drill took place with a mock-up accident and police rescue, which involved scaling the 60m high perimeter.

This was followed on 18 October 2011 by a surprise fire drill with a mock-up victim to test the response of the company first-aiders and the local fire service.

Lafarge to increase cement plant waste recovery

Lafarge intends to further increase its replacement rate of fossil energies on the biggest cement plant in France at Saint-Pierre-la-Cour.
