Safety award for Lafarge plant

The 725 Lafarge cement plant at Port-la-Nouvelle, France, has won the 2011 safety award from the French cement industry.

On 24 September, 2011 a drill took place with a mock-up accident and police rescue, which involved scaling the 60m high perimeter.

This was followed on 18 October 2011 by a surprise fire drill with a mock-up victim to test the response of the company first-aiders and the local fire service.
