Gower Plant Hire says it is boosting business with the introduction of two new 668 Terex Finlay C-1540 cone crushers.

upplied by Finlay Plant SW, the high-performance plants are powering through aggregate at the company’s Garn Bica Quarry in Porthyrhyd, Carmarthen, Wales.

Gower Plant Hire was established in 1996, and offers site clearance services to South Wales in addition to crushing and screening, plant hire, demolition and topsoil as well as recycled aggregates and concrete.

“I believe that the Terex Finlay C1540s are the best crushers to cope with the applications I’m processing,” says Mark Jones, quarry manager at Gower Plant Hire.

The Terex Finlay C-1540 plant features the proven Terex 1000 cone crusher, which is choke fed with an integrated level sensor; automatic tramp relief, and hydraulic closed side setting adjustment.

To protect the cone, the feed belt is fitted with an automated metal detection and purge system, which minimises downtime by removing metal contaminants via the purge chute.

The reduced length of the new Terex C-1540 is said to be ideal for crushing in a system where the oversize material is recirculated to the crusher.

“The machines are delivering considerable value to Gower Plant Hire,” says Gareth Johnson, managing director of Finlay Plant SW.

“Their capabilities of coping with the material that’s being put through is extraordinary and the shorter model is great for when they’re recirculating the oversize.”
