Goodfellow received the new dozer because of its long-standing relationship with Caterpillar.
Patrick Kearns, North America industry region manager at Caterpillar, says: “This commemorative medium track-type tractor symbolises so much of what we’ve accomplished over the last century and our commitment to building a better world.”
Goodfellow says the Cat D6 XE offers elevated sprocket design for increased agility and 35% better fuel efficiency, compared to the previous 3-speed model D6T.
With no gears to shift, the electric drive is expected to provide maximum torque at all speeds and constant power to the ground allowing it to move up to 10% more material per hour.
According to Goodfellow, the electric drive also offers durability and simplified diagnostics, helping to reduce service and maintenance costs.
Additionally, the dozer features special fender decals and a decorative blade to celebrate the company’s 2021 centennial. Goodfellow plans to feature the new commemorative dozer throughout its anniversary celebration in 2021.
The Cat D6 XE is also outfitted with the Trimble Earthworks Grade Control Platform. It offers dozer operators cab-mounted portability, an Android UI and a 10-inch touch screen.
