Atlas Copco expands QIS range

Atlas Copco has extended its range of QIS generators with the addition of five models. The generators range from 875-1,420kVA and are said to build on the success of the original QIS range, offering low noise levels and modular capabilities, and with 30% more interior space available to allow for expansions or the inclusion of extra communications modules. “The latest additions to the QIS range offer a no compromise solution to noise. 385 Atlas Copco has extended its range of QIS generators with the addition of five models.

We have tested and certified a 1MW generator at a noise level of 70dB(A) at 15 metres distance, which means they are suitable even for use in residential areas,” says Julio Tome, product marketing manager – large generators, for Atlas Copco’s portable energy division.

The new models are the QIS 875, QIS 1015, QIS 1115, QIS 1250 and QIS 1420, and all offer 500-hour service intervals and are designed to perform in standby and stationary prime power applications.

QIS models are intended for outdoor installation and undergo a rigorous testing procedure, including a transient behaviour test; ambient temperature performance test; water ingress test and certification, along with extensive noise testing.
