The National, Stone, Sand and Gravel Association will host a webinar on the 19 April from 1:00pm to assist mine operators with understanding what constitutes Significant and Substantial (S&S) citation. It will also provide information on what arguments to make in challenging an S&S finding during an inspection or informal conference carried out by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
This AGG1 session will address how the definition of S&S has evolved in the courts, review its position with the MSHA’s application of the meaning of S&S and consider examples of conditions that were mistakenly cited in this category. It will also provide tips on best practices to improve safety and avoid hazardous exposures that could lead to S&S issuances.
Presenters for the webinar include Lauren Marino, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak and Stewart.
