Black Mountain Sand to open frac sand plant in Oklahoma

September 7, 2018

Black Mountain Sand, an in-basin frac sand provider, has announced the construction of a sixth mine in Blaine County, Oklahoma. The 1,290-acre facility is expected to open in mid-January 2019 and produce three million tonnes of sand annually.

Rhett Bennett, founder and CEO of Black Mountain Sand, says the new facility will help the company deliver products to customers with operations in the state.

According to Black Mountain Sand, the addition of the Mid-Continent mine will make the company the largest in-basin sand provider in the nation with an annual combined production capacity exceeding 19 million tonnes.

The company says it is also the only in-basin provider serving three of the most active basins in North America – the Eagle Ford Shale and the Permian and Anadarko Basins.
