June 16, 2017

Cemex has opened its 300th Construrama store in Colombia, continuing the growth of its retail network in Latin American.
Cemex opened the first Construrama store in 2001. It now has 1700 stores in Mexico and Colombia.

The Construrama format allows smaller hardware stores to compete with large chains by offering training and support with sales, marketing, financial management, and supplier alliances.

In 2016 Construrama added130 stores in Mexico and 60 stores in Colombia, which it is expected to expand to 550 by 2020. The network is also present in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico.

“At Cemex and Cemex Latam Holdings, we are proud to help achieve the dreams of Colombians by contributing to the improvement of their earnings and their businesses’ profitability, while enabling them to achieve the fulfillment of their personal projects,” Cesar Gomez, national director, Construrama in Colombia, said.

“More than an initiative, Construrama is a way to approach people and boost the growth of small entrepreneurs in our country,”
