Cemex USA says it completed a continuous concrete mat pour in under 20 hours, creating a foundation for the Texas Tower. The 47-story office building will soon join the Skyline of Houston.
More than 220 mixer trucks delivered around 14,000 cubic yards of ready-mixed concrete during a continuous pour which finished on Sunday morning, the company adds.
Texas Tower, a building developed by Houston-based Hines and its investment partner Ivanhoe Cambridge, is positioned on the former site of the Houston Chronicle building, and is designed to rise 700 feet from the foundation that is 12 feet thick.
Once complete, the tower is expected to provide one million cubic feet of office space and house the global headquarters for Hines. It is scheduled to be complete in late 2021.
