CM Labs is to showcase how multiple operators can complete a task within the same virtual worksite via connected simulators at CONEXPO 2020 in Las Vegas.
CM Labs says the exercise shows an excavator operator how to safely fill an articulated dump truck while another trainee learns how to operate the truck, interact with the excavator and drive on various types of terrain.
A third trainee can provide guidance from the CM Labs signal person training station while a fourth can work from an instructor operation station to monitor and direct operations. The simulators track all operating metrics during the collaborative training exercise and rolls them up into a single score for the team, the company adds.
The catalogue of crew training capabilities also includes simulation-based tandem lift exercises for mobile crane and crawler crane.
According to CM Labs, this type of collaborative training can be dangerous to reproduce for new trainees due to the potentially hazardous interactions between equipment and personnel.
CM Labs’ crew training capability is embedded with Smart Training Technology to help ensure the highest level of transferable skills available outside the real equipment.
Julien Richer-Lanciault, technical product manager at CM Labs, says the training simulates “critical machine reactions, such as the “precise motion of the truck when dirt hits the trailer or when it is struck by the bucket. This allows operators to develop the sense of feel that is so critical to efficient operations.”
