Irish building materials company CRH has purchased Illinois-based Concrete Specialties in a deal valued at $46.6m, says a report by The Irish Times.
Concrete Specialities is a producer of precast concrete products in the Chicago metropolitan area, southern Wisconsin and northern Indiana.
A CRH spokeswoman says in the report that the deal was in addition to the €150m of acquisitions spend that the group confirmed in its interim report published on 23 August.
“CRH committed to about €5 billion of asset purchases in 2017, making it the second-biggest deal-making year in the group’s history, following on from the €8 billion it spent in 2015,” the news report adds.
According to the article, CRH has returned to its business of security smaller bolt-on deals this year.
