Eleven new jaw crushers from Superior Industries

March 13, 2020

US bulk material processing and handling systems supplier Superior Industries has added eleven new models to its Liberty range of jaw crushers.

The new bolted designs have a total capacity range of 100 to 1,450 tonnes per hour (tph). Feed openings start at 508mm × 1,397mm to 1,500 x 2,000mm, with maximum feed sizes up to 1,200mm.

“We designed this jaw to have an aggressive nip angle,” said Grant Holmes, a crushing engineer at Superior. “This design reduces the possibility of rocks not gripping properly and boiling above the chamber. As long as the rock fits, it’s going to be crushed.”

Other features on the crushers include a mid-mount base frame design that ensures a compact installation, which is ideal for portable and track plant applications.

The barrel liner on the jaw crushers protects the bearings and pitman housing and is uniquely replaceable when worn. The pitman shaft is computer numerical controlled (CNC)-machined to improve the strength and reliability of the hardest working component of the crusher.

The fibreglass drive guard is designed so that it can be removed by a single crew member to speed and simplify maintenance.

Superior Industries VP of sales John Garrison commented: “Most of products are set up to be portable plants. It’s a big part of our business.”

He added that the company now also packages a lot of its individual crushing and screening products together.
