Kespry, a drone-based solutions provider, has announced that 20% of companies that took part in a survey are saving $50,000-$100,000+ a year with its technology.

Kespry found that nearly a quarter of the 220 mining and aggregates customers involved in the survey are saving $30,000-$49,999 a year. Additionally, 15% of companies are saving 600-2,400 hours in employee time a year, with another 27% saving 120-240 hours a year. Mine planning flights increased by 55% compared with 2017.

Speaking upon the benefits of Kespry, 78% said the solution enables them to more frequently survey sites on demand, with 65% achieving greater data accuracy while reducing discrepancies and rework. Seven out of ten customers survey their sites monthly or weekly, with a third engaged in large-scale surveys of 15 or more sites. More than half of the customers stated they have achieved safer operations as a result of the technology.

Eight out of ten respondents said Kespry’s ease of use played a major factor in their decision to adopt the platform while 79% chose the platform for speed of data capture and turnaround. Nearly 65% selected Kespry for its turnkey hardware guarantee while half of the participants said they replaced contracted surveyors, measuring wheels and GPS base and rover technology with Kespry.

George Mathew, CEO, Kespry, said: “More and more mining and aggregates companies are experiencing tremendous productivity, efficiency and safety benefits as they standardise on Kespry and roll out our platform across multiple sites and geographies.”

The company said the customers that took part in the study are located at 3,311 worksites across North America and generally use Kespry for inventory management, mine planning, materials management, contractor benchmarking, and boosting employee safety.
