LafargeHolcim to complete $319m upgrade of its Russia plant

LafargeHolcim plans to complete the modernization of its plant in Volsk, Saratov region, Russia, in the fourth quarter of 2017, the acting governor of the region, Valery Radaev, said, according to Russian Construction.com.

Investment in the project amounts to 18 billion rubles (approximately $319 million). “This year, Holcim completes the major reconstruction and modernization of the plant for the production of cement.

"The volume of investments amounts to more than 18 billion rubles.

"The enterprise is planned to start operating at full capacity in the fourth quarter of this year,” Radaev said in his investment letter to the businessmen and officials.

The governor noted that the project implementation would allow to halve the amount of emissions into the atmosphere, what is, according to him, “is crucial for Volsk”.
