Steven Parker of Chryso wins ASTM Inernational award

The cement and concrete aggregates committee of ASTM International (formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials) has presented its top annual award to Steven Parker.

Steven Parker of Chryso from Rockwall, Texas, has won the society's award of merit in recognition of his "individual contribution to developing standards." Parker has also been made a fellow of ASTM International.

"Parker was recognized for his dedicated service to the committee, particularly for his outstanding administrative leadership to the committee and his contributions to developing and improving standards for aggregates, ready-mixed concrete and the durability of concrete mixtures," says a statement from the organisation.

Parker has been: "An ASTM International member since 1993, Parker previously received the Service Award in 2006, the Honorary Committee Member Award in 2014, and the Award of Appreciation in 2008 and 2012 all from the concrete and concrete aggregates committee. He is also a member of the ASTM committees on cement (C01), road and paving materials (D04), and the committee on technical committee operations (S02).

"Parker, a sales and marketing manager with Chryso., has held his position since 2008, having previously served at the Nevada Cement Company, RMC Mid-Atlantic, and Trinity Materials. He holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology from Montana State University and a master’s degree in geology and geophysics from the University of Wyoming."
