Thomas Schmidheiny and Bertrand Collomb have both decided not to stand for re-election at LafargeHolcim’s (LH's) Annual General Meeting on 8 May 2018. Schmidheiny will remain one of the group’s main shareholder’s and has been named honorary chairman of the group following his years of service. Collomb is stepping down to follow a customary age limit of 75 years.
Schmidheiny started his carrier at LH in 1970 and became a member of the executive committee six years later and served as chief executive officer between 1978 and 2001. He joined the board of directors in 1978 and was its chairman from 1984 to 2003.
Bertrand Collomb’s started his career with the company in 1975 and has worked in different management positions and was appointed chairman and CEO of Lafarge from 1989 to 2003 and was director until 2012. He was named honorary chairman of Lafarge in 2007 and joined LH’s board in 2015.

All other current members of the board of directors will be proposed for re-election at the Annual General Meeting. These include Beat Hess, Oscar Fanjul, Paul Desmarais, Jr, Patrick Kron, Gérard Lamarche, Adrian Loader, Jürg Oleas, Nassef Sawiris, Hanne Birgitte Breinbjerg Sørensen and Dieter Spälti.
