UK: Cemex awarded for good transport practice

May 16, 2017

The UK fleet of Cemex has achieved the gold standard in the UK Freight Operators Recognition Scheme.

The voluntary scheme introduced by Transport for London promotes best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection through the supply chain.

Cemex has its own fleet of over 300 cement tankers and aggregate tippers who have gone through the tough assessment and become gold accredited. The company was only one of 10, out of 2000 members, to first achieve gold in 2013.

The fleet of Independent Haulier contractors who transport ready mixed concrete on behalf of Cemex is also working to achieve accreditation with the scheme, with over half of the contractors in the UK achieving accreditation to date.
