Wash tower catches fire at PJ Keating quarry and asphalt plant

Around 35 firefighters responded to a was tower which caught fire at PJ Keating's quarry and asphalt plant on Phoenix Avenue, 7 June - according to a report by WPRI.com. Bernard Patenaude, assistant chief, says the crew laid down 4,500 feet of hose to reach it from the nearest hydrant.

The report says the fire was extinguished quickly. Two employees were at the scene when the fire started but there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
