Cummins has a US$580 million plan to develop its Rocky Mount Engine Plant in North Carolina, USA. The firm says the project intends to drive economic and job growth in the Nash County community. This investment is set to generate approximately 80 additional new jobs, fostering both short-term employment opportunities and long-term job stability.

CRH and Caterpillar have signed a strategic agreement to develop and deploy electric off-road vehicles and charging solutions. The agreement is focused on accelerating the deployment of Caterpillar’s 70 to 100-ton-class battery electric off-road truck with CRH testing and validating the units at its operations in North America.

The US construction industry added 17,000 jobs on net in December 2023, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has grown by 197,000 jobs, an increase of 2.5%.
