Aggregate building blocks accounted for a 69% share of the total and the remainder (31%) was made up of aircrete building blocks, according to research by consultancy BDS.
In 2020, it identified 33 concrete block paving plants operating in the country with an estimated total market value of around 16 million m².
BDS has published its latest annual concrete product reports to provide information on the concrete product industry in Great Britain.
It estimates that the concrete paving slab market for 2020 to be almost 14 million m² accountable from 53 plants operating in Great Britain.
