The contest, which since 1991 has recognised the best construction projects in Mexico and the world, received 278 national entries for this edition and a wide variety of projects from 14 different countries.

In the Residential Housing category, 112 projects participated: in Building, 59; in Infrastructure, 50; 30 in Collective Space, and 27 in Social Housing.

Additionally, some were registered for one of the four special awards: Universal Accessibility, Sustainable Building, Innovation in Construction, and Social Value.

In the International Edition, projects from Colombia, Croatia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Spain, Philippines, France, Israel, Jamaica, Montenegro, Panama, Poland, and the United Kingdom participated.

The Judge team deliberated from 21-23 June on the finalist projects. It comprised 16 renowned architects and engineers from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, the Dominican Republic, the United Arab Emirates, Colombia, and Argentina.

The Cemex Building Award is already a point of reference in the construction industry, as it recognises projects that stand out for their design and innovation, promote the preservation of the environment, and offer the best solutions for their users and communities.

With this year's contest theme, Shaping the future, Cemex promotes creativity, encourages the development of best construction practices, and highlights the innovations that will become the new industry standards.

The award ceremony for the 2023 edition will be on 9 November at 7pm (Mexico time) and can be seen live at www.premioobrascemex.com
