Environmental awards for 16 French quarries

On 11 June 2010, the Lafarge quarry in Vimpelles (Seine et Marne), France, will house a ceremony organised by the National Union of Quarries and Construction Materials Industries and by the Environmental Charter for quarries. Out of 44 members to this charter in the Paris region, 16 quarries will be rewarded for having reached the highest level in the environmental progress schedule that has been put in place. The latter is composed of 80 criteria of which 52 are major environmental indicators.
