417 Euro Auctions, which claims to be the UK’s largest auctioneers of construction machinery and industrial equipment, continues global expansion with the acquisition of a new auction site in Newnan, near Atlanta, Georgia, USA, just one year after the opening of its previously new auction site in Brisbane, Australia.

Euro Auctions has a acquired the freehold of a 65 acre site, formerly home to the ADESA Atlanta Truck & Equipment auction facility at 300 Raymond Hill Road, Newnan, Georgia 30265. Approximately 60 acres of the site’s total is hard paved, “making the facility perfect for presenting large quantities of construction machines and industrial equipment for auction.”

Euro Auctions, based in Dromore, Northern Ireland, says that with an elevated position and rolling topography, the site runs parallel to Interstate 85, with access via Exit 51 at the Sharpsburg-McCollum Road turning.

With a boundary of 1,400m fronting directly onto the Interstate and just over 850m of additional frontage on Raymond Hill, the site is “highly visible to passing traffic and will prove to be a great benefit when drawing attention to sale days and upcoming events.”

Onsite facilities include the main drive through auction hall; office accommodation; a check-in and sale day administration building; cafeterias as well as two preparation and spray workshops where Euro Auctions’ staff can prepare equipment and machinery for sale. The onsite accommodation equates to approximately 52,500ft² (4,877m².

During the last ten years Euro Auctions says it has forged excellent trade links and built relationships with major players in the USA equipment and machinery markets, and it also has a large number of existing customers from North America, as well as excellent relationships with many of the equipment and machinery companies that are located in this area of south-east USA.

“Euro Auctions has long aspired to enter the USA market but plans have always hinged on finding a suitable facility,” says Jonnie Keys, general manager of Euro Auctions. “This site was chosen by Euro Auctions because of the quality of the facility as well as its excellent location. It also provides us with the opportunity to be located among the hub of the American equipment industry, which will be instrumental to the success of this venture.  We anticipate that the first sale at the new Euro Auctions, Atlanta site will be in the early part of 2013 and we then plan to hold regular auctions there.”
