The construction machinery sector got off to a good start in Italy in 2023, according to the Italian Construction Machinery Union, UNACEA. 

Epiroc, a global market manufacturer of drill rigs and hydraulic breakers for the quarrying and mining industries, is recognising with three annual awards successful customer cooperation in creating the world’s largest single autonomous mine, safety-enhancing software products and battery-electric vehicles for the construction market.

The Wacker Neuson Group is claiming a strong financial performance for the start of 2023. The firm says it is benefiting from significant growth, with group revenue up 27.9% in the first quarter to €667.2 million and the EBIT having increased disproportionately by 124.6% to €87.8 million. This last has been due to a one-time effect from the sale of fixed assets.

Holcim is investing in Coomtech, a cleantech start-up that offers an innovative low-emission kinetic drying technology for raw materials. 

The 31st SaMoTer construction machinery exhibition closed on Sunday, 7 May 2023, at Veronafiere after attracting more than 40,000 specialist visitors from 91 countries over the event's five days.

UK engineering contractor BAM has been working with the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme (AIMP) on a large infrastructure project in the Antarctic. In this programme, Sandvik was proud to be selected as the partner of choice to supply three mobile crushers and screens for a runway resurfacing project to enable further exploration in the Antarctic. 

UK producers of heavy-side building materials, including mineral products such as aggregates, asphalt and concrete, recorded a much-welcomed and broad-based rebound in demand in the first three months of 2023.
