Leading UK infrastructure services company FM 2949 Conway has bolstered its senior team with promotions within key divisions to support the business’ ongoing focus on developing its core highways services for clients.

Julian Wynn has been appointed divisional director for the company’s cleansing and traffic management divisions.  He will be responsible for leading the commercial direction of both divisions, which provide services for local authorities, network operators and commercial organisations as part of FM Conway’s highways self-delivery model, as well as delivering standalone projects for clients.

FM Conway has invested heavily in its cleansing and traffic management capabilities in recent years.  It currently has one of the largest fleets of highways cleansing, jetting and CCTV surveying vehicles in the south east of England and cleans over one million road gullies every year.

Rhiannon Morgan has been promoted to commercial director within the aggregate and asphalt division.  Since joining the company in 2016, Morgan has helped to establish FM Conway as a leading supplier of high-quality materials for the strategic and local road networks, developing products both for its own projects and for commercial sale. Over the past two years, she has led the integration of United Asphalt and Berkshire Macadams into the business following FM Conway’s acquisitions in 2016 and 2017, as well as driving forward the company’s partnership with surfacing specialist Toppesfield.

In her new role, Morgan will continue to lead expansion of the business’ asphalt sales and focus on supplying innovative materials for customers, backed by its extensive research and development capabilities. FM Conway owns and operates six asphalt manufacturing plants across London and the south of England, as well as a Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) plant at Gravesend.

Andrew Hansen, chief operating officer at FM Conway, said: “For over 50 years, FM Conway has been a market leader in delivering highways services across London and the south of England. Julian and Rhiannon’s appointments strengthen the specialist expertise we have within the business and our ability to provide services for clients across the full lifecycle of their highway assets.”

Wynn said: “Traffic management and cleansing are highly specialised services that form a key part of FM Conway’s self-delivery promise for clients. My focus will be on ongoing investment in our own capabilities, fleet and cutting-edge equipment to deliver a first-class service for customers.”

Morgan said: “It’s an exciting time to be working in FM Conway’s aggregates and asphalt business, buoyed by the additional capacity provided by the acquisitions of United Asphalt and Berkshire Macadams and the new partnership with Toppesfield. At the same time our research and development programme is ensuring we are able to supply products ready to meet the challenges of a 21st century road network. I look forward to continuing to drive forward this momentum and developing the company’s sales operations across London and the South East.”
