680 Holcim has celebrated 100 years of operation in the Netherlands and Belgium by announcing plans to ensure it is still working in the region 100 years from now. The company has said that it plans to invest up to €600million in its Obesco 2 project to ensure continuation of its activities in Obourg, where reserves are set to be exhausted this year. The company has also said that it is waiting for permission to start operating a new limestone quarry near Tournai.
