A company that has supplied secondary lightweight aggregate and concrete solutions for some of the most notable design projects in Britain has appointed a new technical and quality manager.

Andrew Cross will be based at 4418 Lytag’s head office in County North Yorkshire and is providing technical expertise for users of the company’s lightweight aggregate (LWA) across the world.

An experienced materials technologist who holds a diploma in Advanced Concrete Technology, Cross has worked in the aggregate and concrete industries for more than 15 years.

He said he was “proud” to be joining a company that had been involved with projects such as the ‘Gherkin’, Westminster Bridge and the Millennium Stadium in London.

“For me, environmentally responsible construction is a passion and I look forward to assisting specifiers and end-users in realising the full potential of Lytag LWA.”
