The World Cement Association (WCA) has appointed Ian Riley as CEO with effect from September 1.
Riley has many years of international experience in Europe, America and Asia, most recently in China where he was the country manager for
The WCA says his relevant expertise will be extremely helpful in the association's development.
WCA chairman Vincent Lefebvre commented: “He has excellent business experience and the drive to help us take WCA to the next level."
Riley succeeds WCA secretary general Norman Greig, who retired on June 30. Greig was the first secretary general and the WCA said it is indebted to his diligence and hard work in building accssociation from scratch to being recognised as the international trade body for the cement industry.
WCA founder Emir Adiguzel said: “I am really grateful for all the sacrifice and hard work during last two years. Norman is a highly talented, meticulous and honest professional who made WCA a real success case. We all recognise that in establishing the World Cement Association in London, he has put his name on world cement history."
