In an interesting move in the UK, the World Cement Association (WCA) has appointed Ian Riley as its new CEO, effective 1 September.
Vincent Lefebvre, WCA chairman, says: “Ian has many years of international business experience, including the last 10 years as China Country Head for LafargeHolcim. He has excellent business experience and the drive to help us take WCA to the next level.”
Riley will succeed Norman Greig, the association's first secretary general.
Emir Adiguzel, WCA founder, says: "Norman is a highly talented, meticulous and honest professional who made WCA a real success case. We all recognise that in establishing the World Cement Association in London, he has put his name on world cement history. We will remember his contribution and efforts. I don't want to think that it is the end. Every end is the beginning to a new chapter. We wish him all the very best."
