Dino Maggioni has left his position as CEO of Italian global off-highway retread tyre maker Marangoni.

The Italian company said in a statement that his departure came after its board of directors had “reviewed the strategical directions” that were assigned to Maggioni when he became CEO in October 2016.

It added that Maggioni had consequently chosen to leave his position as CEO as well as all other positions within the group.

French cement, concrete and aggregates group Vicat posted a 59.4% increase in net income for the first half of 2018.

Net income in H1 totalled €59million, compared with €40mn for H2 2017. Vicat says the solid performance was helped by growth in Turkey, the United States, France and Kazakhstan.

The contracts, for a greenfield plant and a brownfield plant, are with one unidentified client in the region and worth a combined total of over €250million. Granite was the most produced solid mineral in Nigeria last year with around 17.5 million tonnes, 38.12% of the total tonnage of solid minerals produced in the country during 2017.
