Nigeria’s Dangote cuts prices of cement by 41%

Dangote Cement of Nigeria has reduced the price of 32.5-grade cement by 41% to NGN 1,000 (€4.82/US$6.04) for a 50kg bag and the price of 42.5-grade cement fell from NGN 1,700 to NGN 1,150 per 50kg bag. Dangote produces 32.5-grade cement for rendering or plastering; 42.5-grade for general purpose construction works, and 52.5-grade for sky scrapers, bridges and flyovers.

Nigeria currently has around 38 million tonnes of annual cement capacity and more than US$20 billion (€15.99 billion) has been invested in cement industry over last 12 years.
