The hi-tech dozer has an operating weight of 38-43tonnes, depending on machine set-up, and is equipped with the latest KOMTRAX remote monitoring technology with data access via the web or via KOMTRAX Mobile on a smartphone.

Like all new Komatsu EU Stage IV machines, the D155AX-8 comes with Komatsu CARE, a complimentary maintenance program for Komatsu customers. For the first three years or 2,000 hours Komatsu CARE covers factory-scheduled maintenance, performed by Komatsu-trained technicians with Komatsu genuine parts.

Komatsu’s latest dozer model is equipped with SIGMADOZER blade, which gives the machine a high blade capacity of 9.4m³.

SIGMADOZER is said by Komatsu to dramatically improve dozing performance, increasing productivity by up to 15% over a conventional semi-u blade. The blade features a frontal design concept for digging and rolling material in the centre of the blade. Soil-holding capacity is also said to be increased and digging resistance is reduced for a smoother flow of material.

The D155AX-8 has an automatic gearshift transmission and lock-up torque converter that greatly reduces fuel consumption and is said to provide exceptional power train efficiency. The lockup torque converter automatically transfers engine power directly to the transmission, decreasing fuel consumption, Komatsu claims, by up to 10% while machine power is maintained.

Meanwhile, Komatsu’s ergonomically designed Palm Command Control System (PCCS) gives D155AX-8 operators maximum control, offering a relaxed posture and superb fine control to eliminate operator fatigue.

Thumb push buttons simplify transmission gear shifting. The D155AX-8 also uses an electronic control power train system said to significantly improve operation and productivity.

Powerful turns under various work conditions are achieved with the Hydrostatic Steering System (HSS). Counter-rotation is available while in neutral for minimum turning radius, providing excellent manoeuvrability.
