A new 668 Terex Finlay 683 Supertrak inclined screen is helping a company ramp up production at its landmark quarry. The plant has been introduced by Finlay Plant Northern at Owen Pugh Aggregates’ Marsden Quarry, north of Sunderland, north-east England.

Supplying construction aggregates and agricultural limestone across the UK and overseas, the quarry has been in operation for more than 100 years and includes historical lime kilns, used to produce burnt or quick lime in the past, which are designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Marsden Quarry delivers a range of primary and recycled construction aggregates, and more than 100,000 tonnes of agricultural limestone is also quarried at the site, and is distributed across the UK and exported into northern Europe.

To support the quarry’s operations, the new Terex Finlay Supertrak three-way split mobile screen is being used to process agricultural limestone in single sizes, reaching an output rate of 1,400tonnes/day.

“The 683 is renowned for its quality, performance and productivity, and combines scalping, screening and stockpiling into one self-contained unit,” says Charles Nairn, a director of Finlay Plant Northern. “The 683 also features a remote tipping reject grid, hydraulic screen tensioning of bottom deck mesh and three onboard hydraulic folding conveyors.” Owen Pugh Aggregates has ordered another Terex Finlay 683 Supertrak.
