Semen Indonesia to set up cement plant in Jayapura

According to the Regent of Jayapura, Mathius Awoitauw, the regency has reached an agreement with Semen Indonesia to set up the first cement integrated plant in Papua. The US$150 million (€136.36 million) plant will have an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes. The cement demand in Papua in 2014 was at around 800,000tonnes. Ground-breaking is targeted for January 2016 and the plant is expected to be in operation by 2019.

According to the Regent of Jayapura, Mathius Awoitauw, the regency has reached an agreement with 7818 Semen Indonesia to set up the first cement integrated plant in Papua.

The US$150 million (€136.36 million) plant will have an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes.

The cement demand in Papua in 2014 was at around 800,000tonnes.

Ground-breaking is targeted for January 2016 and the plant is expected to be in operation by 2019.
