Indonesia’s Semen Padang to increase its exports

According to Benny Wendry, managing director of Semen Padang, the cement producer will not be lowering production despite slow domestic sale in the first quarter of 2015. The company is looking at increasing its exports given the strong US dollar. According to Benny Wendry, managing director of Semen Padang, the cement producer will not be lowering production despite slow domestic sale in the first quarter of 2015.

The company is looking at increasing its exports given the strong US dollar.

During the quarter, the company’s cement sale dropped by 6.8% from 1.61 million tonnes in the same quarter in 2013 to 1.5 million tonnes.

National demand for the company’s output dropped by 3.6%. During the first quarter, the firm's cement export double to 80,724tonnes.
