Korund, now one of the largest distributors of mining and construction equipment in Central Asia, has delivered into Kazakhstan the first 460 Sandvik mobiles to produce aggregate for a road construction company.

The company became a distributor for Sandvik Construction Mobile Crushing and Screening in March 2014, and its latest delivery consisted of a QJ341 jaw crusher; a QH331 cone crusher and a QA331 screen.

From the granite and diorite material, the road construction company is producing aggregates to be used as base material for roads.

Korund, and its customer, have utilised the flexibility of the Sandvik machines to operate them in two crushing and screening trains to achieve the desired material sizes. The first train consists of the QJ341 feeding the QH331 which then feeds the QA331 screen to produce the finished product.

In the Kazakhstan road construction application the jaw is set to a 80mm CSS (Closed Side Setting), allowing the machine to crush the largest material. This is then fed into the QH331 cone crusher which is set at a 32mm CSS to crush and shape the finished product. The QH331 is fitted with the Sandvik CH430 cone crusher, which comes with a choice of six different crushing chambers and a variety of bush settings, making it one of the most flexible cone crushers on the market today.

Finally the crushed and shaped material is then fed to a QA331 screen, which features a two-bearing screen box with a screening angle built into the bottom deck for ultimate fines screening. The top deck features 25mm square mesh and the bottom deck a 5mm square mesh to produce finished product sizes of 0-4mm, 4-20mm and 20-40mm.

The second train operation consists of the QJ341 jaw crusher feeding the QA331 screen directly. This combination allows for a wider range of sizes to be produced as the jaw is able to tackle the most difficult applications, whereas the screen is ideal for ultimate fines screening. The produced materials are 0-4mm, 4-20mm and 20-100mm.
