4635 Flannery Plant Hire (Oval), established by Patrick Flannery in 1972, now has an annual turnover of £50 million (€70 million). It now has a current fleet totalling around 1,700 units, which operate out of three main depots: Wembley (London), Manchester and Cardiff, with satellite depots in Birmingham and County Northumberland.

The fleet is regularly updated and the latest additions are a raft of machines from Chinese manufacturer 441 LiuGong, including five each of the 908D, 915Ds and 922E excavators, which have all been supplied fitted out to Flannery Plant Hire’s own demolition specification and feature bucket ram guards; heavily armoured side skirt protection and full ROPS & FOPS cab protection. The 8tonne class 908D is powered by a 56.5kw Yanmar engine; the 14tonne class 915D takes its power from a 76.2kw 410 Cummins engine and the 22tonne class 922E is powered by a Stage IIIB Cummins unit, with a power output rating of 117kw.
