Semen Padang aims to boost sale in second half of 2015

The marketing director of Semen Padang, Pudjo Suseno, is reported as saying that the cement company is aiming to supply to a number of state infrastructure projects to boost its sales in the second half of 2015.

It is also looking to increase exports up to 500,000tonnes to boost sales, and has secured sales of 170,000tonnes in the next few months.

According to Suseno, cement sales are usually 45-55% higher in the second half of the year, but during H1 2015, the company reported a year-on-year sales drop of up to 10.4% to 2.95 million tonnes.

It is reported that the government is prioritising basic infrastructure such as low cost housing, irrigation, bridges as well as roads.

Overall sales during H1 were 3.13 million tonnes, down 6% from 3.33 million tonnes a year ago.
